The provincial government is asking for feedback from Albertans about the new PDD Safety Standards. In-person sessions are currently being held across the province for people to provide their feedback, but it is not always easy to get to these sessions.

Another option is to visit http://humanservices.alberta.ca/disability-services/PDD-safety-standards-consultation.html and complete the questionnaire located near the bottom of the webpage. The questionnaire can be completed online, or it can be printed out and completed by hand, and mailed to the government.

All clients and guardians are encouraged to share their opinions as members of the community, and in particular, as people directly impacted by the PDD safety standards. For more information on the PDD Safety Standards, you can visit the Human Services website, or read two short booklets created by the government: a plain language booklet and a booklet for families.

The deadline to provide feedback to the government is March 14, 2016.

Happy Holidays from the DDRC!

On International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the DDRC shares the shock and sadness of people everywhere about yesterday’s events at the Inland Regional Center for people with developmental disabilities in San Bernardino, California.  As we celebrate with the community at our Holiday Open House, the staff, clients, and friends of the Inland Regional Center will be in our thoughts.
